Pursue and evaluate opportunities in the purchase, decommissioning, remediation, re-purposing and eventual redevelopment of power generation assets and properties. Explore potential Business Partnership opportunities and greyfield development opportunities in the independent power sector.Owner's Representative - Assist in pre-funding activities and due diligence of converting a previous power asset to a crude storage facility which in Phase I will accept 2.2 million barrels of storage, see refurbishment of a Mississippi River access terminal and eventual interconnect to a major oil pipeline. Provide overall direction in removal of power assets in preparation for future construction of additional storage capacity, working with local officials and municipal entities to plan for this. Owner’s Representative - Final construction and commissioning of a simple cycle gas turbine facility within ERCOT consisting of a Westinghouse 501D5 combustion turbine repurposed from a facility in Florida. Worked with various owners and the operating company to take over the facility from the constructor in the final stages of commissioning after engine damage occurred, overseeing tops off repairs, completion of open commissioning items and final startup to commercial operation. Owner’s Representative - Decommissioning, deconstruction and remediation of a 210 MW coal fired facility, and development of property for future opportunities. Worked with utility company to ensure proper disconnect from the grid, as well as government agencies in relation to steps take for final site closure activities. Owner’s Representative - Played a key role in trying to find a path forward for a 115 MW coal fired unit in attempts to convert the plant to a renewable energy facility, though the year long process eventually proved unfruitful due to economics. Continue to work with various entities to monetize assets and market the property.

Roanoke Valley Energy Facility

Established and developed a multidepartmental Plant Performance team which was directly responsible for a record run of 173 days @ > 101% capacity between planned outages in the facilities 19th year of base load operation.Managed the transition of two power plants from a 20 year base loaded operational model to peaking facilities enduring a 30% reduction in force while maintaining all lead safety, environmental and performance indicators. Instituted an aggressive cross training program between all crafts and management groups and moved to a seasonal loading shiftwork approach to better utilize resources. These efforts included not only the maintenance and operational staff, but the warehouse personnel and IT staff were qualified to stand operational posts as well and all management functions could be performed by two to three persons. In the midst of this transition the facility maintained its long standing VPP status and was awarded the 2015 NAES President’s Award. The facility led the fleet in company directives such as near miss reporting and sharing of lessons learned.In 2016 I performed dual roles acting as an interim Owner’s Representative in addition to my Plant Manager duties. I represented ownership through a valuation process during a tax dispute, and acted on their behalf during the due diligence process of a potential plant sale.Managed the decommissioning and layup of the facility in 2017.

Roanoke Valley Energy Facility

Directly managed 16 individuals including Mechanical/I&C crafts and warehouse/purchasing personnel. 4 Major Turbine/Generator Outages, Generator Field Rewind, Turbine Controls Upgrades, Excitation Upgrades, Dry Scrubber and Reactor Overhaul & Upgrades, Extensive Baghouse Modifications & Overhauls, Boiler and Furnace Repairs and Regeneration. Well versed in CMMS use and implementation. Managed 7 Million in Spare Parts Inventory, transitioning from an open warehouse to what Ernest & Young audit team referred to as a world class storeroom and inventory control program.

Hopewell Power Station (And Southampton Power Station)

4 years of operations including control room operator, running two natural gas & coal fired B&W stoker boilers with biomass supplementation and two natural gas fired aux boilers. 7 years of maintenance - mechanical, low and medium voltage electrical & light I&C with escalating responsibilities including outage planning and coordination. Well versed in Mechanical/Millwright work, Welding, Machining, Pipe Fitting & Fabrication, Instrument Calibration, PLC programming and low/med. electrical distribution.Lead the layup team in placing a coal fired plant in cold reserve which would later be converted to 100% biomass.
