Selected as one of 12 law students for an externship with the SC General Assembly. Was posted to the Labor, Commerce & Industry Committee in the SC House and the Oversight Committee in the SC Senate. At both locations, I researched current and upcoming legislation, observed committee hearings and floor debates.

While employed at SRA, I worked at the site of the client, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, where I directed operations in a face- paced 24- hour watch center and produced intelligence products using intelligence community, Department of Homeland Security and law enforcement databases and multiple intelligence analysis tools. I collected, interpreted and integrated reports and data from multiple systems, directed to whom the information should be sent and prepared outgoing cables for senior ICE officials. In addition, I screened and conducted initial interviews for potential SRA employees.

As an intelligence analyst, I directed intelligence operations for a 200+ man infantry company while deployed in Iraq. I researched enemy tactics, the local human terrain and historical American involvement in our area of operations and presented the findings to senior leadership. I conducted pre- operation intelligence briefings and post- operation debriefings, added analysis and perspective to the information and disseminated the intelligence to my company and to higher leadership. I also took the development of my subordinates and peers seriously, training new analysts in intelligence procedures, real- world intelligence applications and Fleet Marine Force conduct and operations.
