Eric K. Email and Phone Number
I started working as a Software Engineer at Lockheed Martin in 2023, on the Linux Application team. While on this team, I had the opportunity to develop the NextGen Linux platform for the F-35 simulator. This involved creating design documentation and diagrams as well as prototyping and testing aspects of the design. I was also able to investigate and become familiar with the capabilities of the LynxSecure Hypervisor as well as learning more about system security, user-space filesystems, and memory management. Additionally, I worked with CI/CD tools in Gitlab and the usage of Bash scripting and makefiles to automate the build process. In the sudden event of our Scrum Master leaving the team I offered to fill the role and was elevated to the role of Scrum Master within my first 6 months on the team. After having made valuable connections with my mentor Paul Foster at Lockheed Martin I was able to make a transition to a new program which leveraged Unreal Engine to produce a military simulation strategy game that accurately represents military doctrine for training future generals. This gave me the opportunity to add Unreal Engine to my skill-set and further provided me with an opportunity to become the lead developer on a Synthetic Data Generation IRAD which used Unreal Engine to produce a computer vision dataset. Before starting my position at Lockheed Martin, I completed a 6-month internship with the USF Institue of Applied Engineering in which I contributed to an open-source genealogy JavaScript application, gramps.js, that was used as a software solution for a project initiated by the DoD. For my capstone project I worked with a group of engineering students to integrate OPSWAT's anti-virus API into two open source process monitoring applications, SystemInformer (Windows) and Glances (Linux). I also served as an IT Service Technician at the University of South Florida, where I resolved over 1000 tickets via Jira Service Management (JSM)As of now I am in Georgia Tech's Online Master's in Computer Science program with a specialization in machine learning. I am deeply interested in the applications of artificial intelligence and I aim to stay at the forefront of the industry through this pursuit. Outside of my primary role, I serve as Vice President of Terra Phidelis Corp., a 501(c) non-profit, where I've been instrumental in creating and maintaining the organization's website. I'm also dedicated to giving back to the community, volunteering as an instructor for MECO Robotics, teaching introductory Java programming to high school students.
