Hello, I am Eric Welch a Junior Front End Developer for the web. Focusing on building websites that are mobile first and responsive. I am a student in the Code Oregon 1.0 program through Worksource Oregon. Currently working on personal projects to include in a portfolio and further build my skills.I am task oriented, self directing and require minimal supervision. I am design literate and value the team building influence of cross discipline understanding. I am a fan of best practices such as semantic and accessible coding that is well documented. I prefer process driven creativity. I enjoy learning, building things and solving programs. I would love to work on projects that help people be productive, creative and make it easier to gather/share knowledge.My primary education in web technologies comes from coursework at Portland Community College and through the Code Oregon program. The code Oregon program gives participants access to the online learning site Treehouse.com. On Treehouse I completed the learning tracks: Front-end Development, design, PHP, learning Wordpress and learning Ruby. I also keep up with the industry via Twitter, blogs and newsletters.Skills: Proficient in HTML5 and CSS3 technologies, Responsive Design practices, JavaScript, JQuery & AJAX, Git & Github and SASS. Comfortable using the Adobe creative suite, particularly Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Illustrator. Familiar with Search Engine Optimization, User Experience & other design principles. I have some coursework in the back-end including PHP and Wordpress. I have a growing interest in the Ruby programming language and database technology like MySQL, which I also have experience with.
