A Senior Technical Lead for General Dynamics' work on the Army's successor to the Command Post of the Future program.A Senior Technical Lead for the very successful innovative Command Post of the Future program. This program began as a DARPA program and evolved into a $20M+/yr Army program of record. CPOF has been in operational use as the Army's primary command and control system since 2004. Projects included:* Lead a $5M effort to integrate 3D mapping technology into our product.* Lead an effort to develop an Android prototype of our collaborative command and control software.* Lead an effort to design and build an API to expose the collaborative capabilities of our software to third party application developers (CaaS - Collaboration as a Service)I provide technical leadership for all of our GIS related projects and proposals.Prior to assuming a lead technical role I lead the engineering team for our facility. In this role I grew the team from 14 to more than 80 engineers.

I managed the Lycos Search Research and Development Group. My group was responsible for development and maintenance of the Lycos Search Technology. In this role I directly managed as many as 15 software engineers and analysts. I also was a primary architect of a loosely-coupled distributed web indexing and search architecture which resulted in a greater than ten-fold improvement in the price/performance ratio of the Lycos Search Product.Before assuming this management role I was solely responsible for the development of the multi-threaded Lycos web spider technology. I also lead the effort to internationalize the Lycos search technology.

Engineering Design Research Center:• I participated in the design and implementation of n-dim, an information management tool to support the engineering design process.• I collaborated with industry partners (Alcoa, Bosch, and ABB) to transfer the n-dim technology to industry.• I co-developed a case study method for analyzing information use and flow in large engineering organizations. I participated in the study and analysis of engineering practices at several large technology corporations. Robotics Institute:• I was the sole implementer of a Common LISP-based black-board architecture for coordinating multiple agents in a mechanical design environment. I researched and implemented algorithms for agent negotiation, constraint management, dependency reasoning, and decision analysis.• I performed literature surveys in the above mentioned areas.• I reviewed journal articles for publication in Research in Engineering Design.

I led a development group consisting of up to five engineers. In addition to being an individual contributor, my job responsibilities included scheduling of deliverables, bug tracking, and coordinating development with other project leaders.I was an original member of the development team implementing a rule-based expert system for automatically paginating yellow pages. The automated process was capable of doing in 24 hours what previously would take an expert paginator two weeks to complete.
