The upcoming film, "Getting LOST" will cover the global phenomenon that changed television forever, as well as the devoted fan base that still celebrates the show to this day. The film is being produced by Ralph D. Apel and Taylor Morden, and is slated for release in 2024 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of LOST's 2004 premiere.LOST is among the most beloved and scrutinized shows of all time, and the documentary will explore both the legions of fans that loved the show ... and the backlash that followed one of the most controversial endings in television history. The film will be a collection of brand new interviews with the cast, crew and fan community, as well as archival footage from an unfinished 2010 LOST documentary. The story of LOST is a unique and mesmerizing tale of a show that came about at a time when -- for the first time ever -- the internet played a pivotal role in bringing the fans together. LOST was one of the first serialized network shows to engage in this new digital realm, and served as a gateway for many into the world of message boards and podcasts. A statement from director Taylor Morden:"LOST was a show that meant so much to so many people, including me! It came at a time when we all still gathered around the TV week to week to find out what would happen next. I want to make a film that celebrates the impact that the show had on the pop culture landscape, examines the missteps, and perhaps reveals the true meaning of LOST. Love it or hate it, LOST was a pivotal show and paved the way for the new golden era of television that we all know and love today."The film is still in production. I began freelancing in 2007 after spending over a decade in the financial services and Internet consulting industries. In previous roles, I focused on marketing, web site strategy and research. I managed national and international user research projects of all types (interviews, focus groups, usability tests and more). In September 2023 I joined the team of the upcoming documentary "Getting LOST" as an Executive Producer.I also work on social media, Internet strategy, business consulting and writing/editing projects for clients across a variety of industries, including entertainment and media, sports, consulting, education, healthcare and financial services. I freelanced for Redbox from 2008 until 2024. I helped the brand launch and grow its social media presence beginning in 2009, was involved in nearly every step of the brand's social strategy, and wrote the majority of its Facebook and Twitter posts for the U.S. and Canada for 7 years. I also wrote social media posts for Redbox Instant by Verizon. But I mainly served as the chief film critic and writer for Redbox Unscripted, the company's entertainment site (blog.redbox.com). I have been a Chicago Film Critics Association member since 2010 and was on its Board as Communications Director from 2013 to 2016. I took an active role in helping to launch, fundraise for and publicize the Chicago Critics Film Festival (inaugural year: 2013), which now runs annually at the amazing Music Box Theatre. Previously I could be heard on WGN Radio's Bill Moller Show giving my take on new film releases. In late 2010, Wiley published my first book, Zero-Sum Game: The Rise of the World's Largest Derivatives Exchange. It's in the vein of Liar's Poker and Barbarians at the Gate, and is about the 2007 multibillion-dollar bidding war for the Chicago Board of Trade. (I was a managing director there at the time.)I also speak to high school, college and graduate school students about career options and following your passion.
