ITA Group combines incentive programs, rewards and recognition, group travel and event management to engage employees, motivate channel partners and ignite customer devotion. They rely on traditional business values like hard work, integrity and great client service to make sure their clients are successful. As a part of the Communication Solutions Group, my role as Senior Graphic Designer serviced a variety of clients primarily in the incentive travel arena. I supported communications from a strategy and design perspective to produce effective and exciting design solutions for our clients. Design support included but was not limited to logo and identity work, digital communications, traditional print collateral and strategic signage solutions. Overarching timeline and budget management were also a major part of my role. I worked independently and within teams to achieve our client's objectives and contribute to their success.

Des Moines, Iowa Area

As an Assistant Art Director on the Hy-Vee Corporate team, I designed HV Corporate print advertisements. I took ideas from concept to completion beginning with the brainstorm process and followed through with food photography and layout design. I worked to provide art direction on and off set - which included partnering with photo directors, food stylists and photographers. I worked directly with the client to finalize the design process and prepare files to go to press. This position demanded a high level of creative combined with an extreme attention to detail as well as technical expertise.

As an in-house graphic designer for a large, multi-state Planned Parenthood affiliate, I provided design support and project management for a variety of collateral that came out of the Marketing and Communications department. I completed work for all areas of the organization, which employed several hundred people in four states. I ensured projects were delivered on time and on budget. Projects included — but are not limited to — newsletters, fundraising appeals, event invitations and collateral, educational materials, signage, and photography.

As a Graphic Designer in the Gannett Production Center, I worked to provide high-quality advertising design work. Duties included advertisement design for a wide variety of clients — including newspaper ads, high-end magazine ads and online ads. In this fast paced work environment, attention to detail, design finesse and technical accuracy were very important. As a respected designer, I also assisted with “attention to detail” accounts and contributed to the quality control process.

Originally a part-time job evenings and weekends, my role at this local stationery boutique blossomed into a full-time designer position. I met with clients for custom design projects, developed pricing estimates while adhering to strict budgets and executed the finished product from concept to completion. In addition to design duties, I assisted with customer service, inventory ordering and other production work. I helped hire and manage the part-time staff and interns, the print production for projects and the general workflow. Design projects included custom design, advertisements, direct mail, in-store promotions, marketing strategy, signage, photography and packaging products.

In-house graphic designer for a local non-profit science museum. I began my role at SCI as it was transitioning from its old building to its newer downtown location - and with the move came a new identity, brand and image. I was the first in-house designer the organization hired - and was able to set up successful internal workflow processes as a result. I ensured projects were delivered on time and on budget and acted as the liaison between SCI and print vendors. I worked as part of a communications team and contributed to marketing initiatives. Projects at SCI included publication design, direct mail, signage, marketing strategy, brand management, photography, e-marketing, fundraising campaigns and many other collateral pieces.
