I have always had a deep desire to "do something great" with my life. My struggle has been that I have never been clear about what that "something great" could or should be. This will explain my career path. I started out as a teacher, spent some time in ministry, moved into the non-profit space, and invested several seasons as a stay-at-home mom. While all of those things clearly accomplished significant and "great" results, the yearning remained. I then took a position at a start up, as the Director of Legal and Compliance. To be honest, when I took this position I struggled with the thought that I was moving away from accomplishing the "great thing" as I couldn't yet see how my role could impact the greater good. Here, I unexpectedly discovered my love and passion for partnerships in the corporate market.I now have the honor of leading the partnership efforts for a business unit within Nelnet that, funny enough, supports churches, nonprofits, and businesses. I guess I was on the right track all along!I'm starting to understand that a life is big enough to do lots of GREAT THINGS and that my great thing might be launching one great thing after another, wherever I am planted.
