At Nieman Inc., I'm responsible for • developing scopes and sequences of educational curricula - K-12 and higher ed. across a range of subject areas - print and digital• setting and maintaining schedules and budgets• managing and maintaining client relationships• writing and editing content• managing production schedules and procedures• coordinating writers, editors, designers, and production teams• identifying problems and finding solutions• overseeing general day-to-day processesMy favorite parts of my job are working with intelligent writers and editors, content specialists and digital geniuses. I learn something new every day, and I always look forward to finding solutions to the obstacles of working with schedules, budgets, and individuals.

As Manager of Consulting Services, I apply my knowledge of K-12 curriculum, Common Core State Standards, pedagogy, and digital best practices gained from publishing to helping teachers and schools implement technology as effectively and successfully as possible. I work with principals and teachers to find solutions to the problems and challenges that they face in their school. Together we devise ways to differentiate instruction among a variety of learners, to meet teachers where they are in their understanding of and comfort with technology, and to identify new resources to make life easier and more engaging for students and teachers alike. I provide services from tech support to full-blown curriculum integration with technology. I've made a study of different methods of integrating all kinds of devices - iPads, whiteboards, computers, clicker systems, and a wide variety of online services and products - into classrooms to help boost achievement through increased engagement. That basically translates to using technology to get kids excited about learning and to take some of the strain off of our busy teachers.
