The Center for Maternal & Young Child Health is one of three “Centers of Excellence” at Groundwork Ohio. The Center is focused on building and transforming systems that improve maternal and young child health, promote health equity, and prioritize prevention through policy development, research, and collaboration. Through its unique mission and strategy, the Center will engage in advocacy and policy to craft, advance, and scale policies and programs that increase access to high-quality care and interventions for pregnant women and young children.In this role, I oversaw the Center’s activities and drives the Center’s work to improve outcomes for women, young children, and their families. I worked to advance Groundwork’s mission by working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to drive forward bold policy change that strengthens children, families, and communities.- Led implementation of the Center mission and strategy, including research, policy advocacy and development, stakeholder engagement and systems building to support improved maternal and young child health outcomes- Recruited, established, and facilitated an Advisory Council of leading experts and community leaders for the Center that will work to support, influence, and advance the overall mission and vision of the Center - Served as an issue expert on policy and programming related to maternal and young child health- Developed, authored, and contributed to high quality products, including reports, briefs, abstracts, fact sheets, webinars, and blog posts- Provided expert legislative testimony during Statehouse hearings on priority bills- Developed and implemented stakeholder engagement activities to cultivate champions for policies supporting maternal and young child health and equity, with emphasis on Black women and children

- In coordination with the Leadership team, drove forward policy change for pregnant women, young children, and families by developing, coordinating, implementing, and managing advocacy efforts and campaigns at the local, state, and federal level, including: -- Tracking, studying, and analyzing legislation related to early childhood issues with a focus on early learning, maternal and young child health, equity, and economic stability-- Supporting the development of materials, such as fact sheets, candidate briefing books, and webinars- Developed and maintained effective relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders, such as policymakers, early childhood nonprofit leaders, child advocates, and business leaders through- Conducted and led development and execution of advocacy-related events and meetings, including one-on-one meetings with stakeholders and legislators, legislative briefings, and legislative hearings

Managing Director, Women’s Public Policy Network• In coordination with the WPPN Executive Director, develop and execute legislative and advocacy strategies to drive forward social change at the local, state, and federal level for women and families, including testifying on bills at the Ohio Statehouse, meeting and leading issue education with key stakeholders and legislators, and organizing legislative briefings and lobby days• Develop and execute communications plan, including managing social media accounts and content, creating email communications and managing a weekly newsletter, drafting and editing donor appeals and program overview documents, carrying out press plans, and writing and pitching opinion pieces for media outlets• Plan and lead monthly coalition meeting planning with our nearly 40 partner organizations, including developing meeting agendas, organizing outreach ahead of meeting on advocacy and legislative updates, and facilitating the meeting Policy Analyst • Provide legislative analysis and strategy support to Policy Director on local, state, and federal issues through the lens of how issues impact women and families, including a portfolio of issues ranging from paid family leave to reproductive health care to pregnancy accommodations• Manage partner outreach and relationship building for our women and working families policy initiatives, specifically on the policy issue of paid family and leave

• Worked in partnership with President to develop and execute fundraising plan to diversify organizational funding, including individual giving, institutional giving, event-based gifts, and foundation grants• Lead growth of foundation funding, developed grant proposals, and maintained foundation staff relationships• Developed and executed an organizational funding plan: researched prospective donor targets, managed and tracked President/CEO’s fundraising call time, prepared donor briefings, and staffed donor meetings

• Played an integral role in the campaign’s fundraising strategy and program: Performed donor prospecting, created call sheets and prepared for candidate call time, prepared briefings for fundraising meetings and fundraising events, assisted in managing donor relations, and staffed donor meetings• Managed grassroots fundraising event program: conducting outreach to event hosts and host committees, managing stakeholder relationships, building mailing and email lists, identifying call time targets for candidates, and staffing events• In addition to assisting other finance staffers with campaign fundraising events, directly coordinated 54 fundraising/political events which raised nearly $250,000 within 12 months

• Built strong volunteer base in Central Ohio by recruiting, training, and maintaining relationships with volunteers• Assisted in coordinating and recruiting attendees for community events, rallies, and candidate debates

• Fielded EMILY's List calls and emails with helping to coordinate the Friends of EMILY's List monthly giving program• Drafted, communicated, and tracked membership and contribution inquiries and correspondenceAssisted EMILY's List members with questions concerning endorsed candidates and contributions.

• Organized and lead a "OSU Buckeyes for Kilroy" weekly phone bank with Ohio State students• Recruited and trained volunteers for phone banks and assisted in organizing the Get Out the Vote efforts for the campaign• Assisted in coordinating a "Strategy Session" with community leaders, volunteers, and staff

• Recruited and trained volunteers on the message of the campaign for canvasses and phonebanks• Engaged in canvassing and phone banking efforts throughout the Issue 2 campaign and during the Get Out the Vote efforts• Utilized Votebuilder to update information into the database; organized materials for canvasses and office work

• Completed administrative tasks such as spreadsheets, mail merges, calendar information, or small projects.• Fielded calls regarding constituent issues addressing State Representative Michael Stinziano's 25th House District
