Undertook a comprehensive evaluation of the University of Michigan Museum of Anthropological Archaeology’s (UMMAA) Collection Management Policy, focusing on the integration of community-centered perspectives, particularly those of Indigenous communities represented in the collections, while aligning with U-M and UMMAA’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) priorities.Key Contributions and Objectives Achieved: • Conducted in-depth research on Collection Management Policy best practices. • Analyzed the American Alliance of Museums’ Ethics Guidelines and DEAI Strategic Plan, with a focus on applications in anthropological and archaeological contexts. • Reviewed and synthesized the University of Michigan’s DEI Strategic Plan. • Critically assessed UMMAA’s existing Collection Management Policy, identifying areas for improvement and opportunities to incorporate community and DEI-focused approaches. • Delivered a detailed critique and recommendations for policy enhancement, contributing to the museum’s commitment to ethical and inclusive stewardship of its collections.This project engaged with global archaeological, ethnographic collections, fostering a nuanced understanding of museum ethics, policy evaluation, and community engagement in cultural heritage practices.

Archive Chicago projectAdvisor: Dr. Kelly Wisecup, English Department, Northwestern University• Collaborated closely with faculty, staff, students, and community members in a pioneering role to articulate Chicago's rich history as a vibrant archive for Indigenous literature and art, contributing to a significant academic project • Designed and developed interactive online public exhibits that critically showcased the consequences of Chicago’s misrepresentations of Native people, enhancing public understanding and engagement. • Employed place-based research methods alongside meticulous practices of close reading and collaborative writing, enriching the project's depth and scope. • Conducted extensive archival research and interviews with Native American artists and community members, gathering invaluable insights and narratives for the project's success.
