For both the fall and winter semesters, I was a teaching assistant for a 3 hour, first year, undergraduate physics lab. Responsibilities are previously provided below. In addition, I was a marker for a the first year, undergraduate physics class. This involved marking midterms, exams and approximately bi-weekly quizzes. I would also proctor make-up quizzes for students that were unable to write the quiz with the rest of the class.

September to December 2015: I offered assistance to undergraduate students during their first year physics lab course. This involved answering questions, solving any problems as they arose, and ensuring students got the most out of their laboratory time. In addition, I was responsible for marking lab books every week, and marking end of semester lab tests and formal reports. During this time, I was a TA for two separate, 3 hour lab sections. January to April 2016:I continued to TA for one section of the first year physics lab (as described above). I also marked midterms and finals for the first year physics class.

Greater Sudbury

I had the exciting opportunity of working with two groups of amazing and intelligent people on two exciting experiments, DEAP and SNO+.For this I received WHIMIS, Fall Protection Awareness, as well a Vale specific and SNOLAB site specific training. For the first half of this summer I worked with SNO+. Here I was mainly involved with the experiment's AV neck sense rope system. I calibrated some self retracting pulleys, as well as performed tension, stress and stretching measurements of two possible rope choices. I also designed and tested a simple circuit that would relay information about each rope's extension to their main database. In addition I was also recruited to help out with the annual CAP conference that was held at Laurentian University. For this, I timed the guest speakers to keep the conference on schedule and also provided technical assistance for speakers using projectors, etc. The second half of my summer was spent working on the DEAP experiment. A large part of this involved going the 2km underground to the lab itself and helping out with the construction and maintenance of the experiment. When above ground I spent my time working on a post-processing program for future data. This was done using a C++ based programming language called ROOT.
