Erin Schrode is an activist and social entrepreneur. As The White House said, Erin “is a dynamic, passionate and ambitious young woman committed to creating big change everywhere she goes.” This community organizer champions civic leadership, conscious living and environmental stewardship worldwide, launching a youth education project in Haiti, writing curriculum for an eco center for Palestinian, Israeli and Jordanian students, developing recycling infrastructure in Ghana, and elevating stories of Syrian, Iraqi and Afghan refugees in the Mediterranean and Middle East, as well as Native Americans at Standing Rock in solidarity on the ground. After Hurricane Maria, Erin led #ChefsForPuertoRico as COO of the largest feeding program in Puerto Rico, for which World Central Kitchen founder Chef José Andrés was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, serving over 3.7 million meals to those in need, and now investing in local, sustainable agriculture and food systems islandwide. She is now driving her non-profit’s Conscious Kitchen program to transform school food supply chains, source and serve tens of millions of organic, nutritious meals to students and vulnerable populations across the Bay Area, as well as rural Guatemala. The Schoolbag allows students to further their studies, particularly those living in disaster or conflict-stricken areas or chronic poverty. In its first two years, the program reached over 30,000 students in Haiti, in addition to deliveries in East Timor and South Africa.
