Ed Roberts is a multi-talented professional with experience in IT, meteorology, broadcasting, social integration strategies, and community organization. Ed is currently a training specialist at Orchard Software, aiding clients and internal users in how to use Orchard's software and building new curriculums to do so. Prior to this, he assisted new clients in the planning and implementation of Orchard's software working hands-on with clients to ensure optimal workflows to improve lab efficiency. He received his degree in meteorology from Valparaiso University and spent 4 1/2 years as a broadcast meteorologist, intermingling his IT experience in broadcasting and in further jobs along the way. He launched LRC Weather, LLC in 2008 with 3 others servicing businesses with custom long and short-range forecasting specific to their needs. He continues to do this work independently. Ed founded and was the President, lead organizer, and Chairman of the Board of the Kansas City chapter of Social Media Club for its first 3 years. SMCKC is the largest and most active chapter in Social Media Club worldwide and recently received the national organization's inaugural "Chapter of the Year" award for its work in social media advocacy and community outreach. He has spoken on the integration of social platforms as well as the paradigm shift social media has brought to the landscape of business, personal branding, and entrepreneurship. Ed's Kansas City Weather podcast was honored with a Podcast Peer Award as being the best regional-themed podcast, and had more shows produced than nearly all podcasts since the advent of podcasting though its lifespan. His two music podcasts garnered acclaim from new media professionals, musicians, and listeners worldwide.
