This was a 10 week summer internship offered by the InCNTRE Summer of Networking program that was run by Matthew Davy. For the summer I worked directly for Camilo Viecco, helping with the GMOC SNAPP front-end website in perl for the Genie project. The overall experience was positive and I learned a great deal about code quality and maintainability from Camilo. I wrote web service wrapper APIs that exposed Martin Group's software functionality to other companies desiring Martin Group systems with their own software. These APIs were done in C# using Visual Studio 2005 and 2008. I also worked with Microsoft SQL Server, writing database conversion scripts in order to help new clients transition to Martin Group software.

I worked F-15 aircraft on the flight line preparing jets for the pilots. These duties included refueling the jet, completing light inspections between flights, and preparing the cockpit for the pilot. I also worked in a Phase dock for about 21 months. This is where the heavy maintenance is done on the aircraft, so that the jets on the flight line can be turned around quickly for a rapid series of missions. Since I had good computer skills and maintenance knowledge, I was transferred to the debrief office. This is where the pilots complete their mission paperwork with respect to maintenance, allowing the maintenance teams to work on the jets with direct feedback from the pilots.
