Led the effort to create an architecture for integrating data products motivating users to live healthier through Smart Coach feature in the company’s fitness mobile app.Produced interactive data visualizations and blog posts on seeing the 2014 Napa earthquake in UP users' sleep data, the effects of weather on fitness and sleep, etc. that generated coverage and billions of impressions on Good Morning America, Today Show, Time, WSJ, NY Times, reddit + hacker news front pages.Led the data democratization effort through development and adoption of an analytical data warehouse and promoting its use by product teams throughout the company.Implemented data products, such as a user classification algorithm and analysis of the effects of commuting on fitness and sleep.Developed data pipelines for product analytics that replaced an external solutions and saved the company hundreds of thousands of dollars a year.

Social media and especially Twitter made a wealth of human language data available for mining. Our products extracted intents from Twitter posts for ad targeting, automatically identified experts on various topics and created topical feeds. We also created a system for crowdsourcing product attributes.

Jaxtr linked mobile phones to the web and brought cheap international calls using VoIP to over 10 million people across the world.We were signing up 60K users a day back when Facebook was signing up 100K. We put in place a virality optimization engine and a custom data analytics system. Within several months we were lucky to have to solve scalability problems across the stack. It started with a prototype that showed how one could use Google Talk and a Sipura box to control their phone home remotely. To the best of my knowledge it was the first voice integration with Google Talk.When we had trouble recruiting engineers with telco background, I built a platform that hid all the complexity and messiness of telephony and enabled engineers without telco background to write sophisticated telephony apps using a simple API.Jaxtr was acquired by the Hotmail co-founder Sabeer Bhatia's company (Sabse Technologies) in 2009 and still lives on.
