Role Overview: As the Training Coordinator at Code for Africa, I lead a dynamic learn-by-doing training initiative that spans across Africa. My primary focus is on meticulously planning, executing, and evaluating our Academy training programs.Key Responsibilities• Training Program Management - I actively coordinate and manage the training components of Code for Africa's projects. This involves employing a variety of learning modalities, including self-/instructor-led and online/in-person training, to ensure optimal learning outcomes.• Partnership and Stakeholder Engagement - I work closely with the Academy team to ensure successful partnership management and the timely delivery of project goals. I maintain consistent communication with stakeholders to keep them informed and engaged.• Mentorship Oversight - I oversee and assess all mentoring activities within the training programs. This includes the selection of mentors and ensuring they possess the necessary skills and tools to effectively guide mentees toward their objectives.• Curriculum Development Collaboration - I collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and the Academy curriculum development team to identify training needs and create engaging training content and materials. I am responsible for crafting a comprehensive training development plan that aligns with academy.AFRICA courseware modules and guides, which include the creation of materials, tutorials, instructions, and learning resources.• Impact Tracking -. I am dedicated to excellence through continuous improvement. I log analytics and meticulously track the impact of our training sessions, utilizing data-driven insights to ensure that our training programs consistently evolve and optimize results.Skills: Training Programme Development, Learning Needs Assessment, Training Delivery and Evaluation, Partnership and Stakeholders Engagement, and Content Development.

Kenya

Provide and support evaluation training to recent graduates on the Young Impact Associates (YIAs) program. The YIA program is part of the Mastercard Foundation’s Young Africa Works (YAW) strategy, which aims to develop a network of highly skilled young African evaluation professionals who will be positioned to drive evaluation practices on the continent of Africa and influence development trajectories in their communities. YIA program offers a robust curriculum of evaluation training, networking activities and mentorship to help YIAs gain real-world skills, tools and experiences needed to amplify impact and lead the next generation of African evaluators. The YIA program activities include a blended training and field practical experiential learning, a mentorship program, boot camps, exchange programs, stand-ups and brown bag meetings, hangouts, connections to useful networks and support to evaluation conferences. These experiences will allow YIAs to gain insights from the wealth of knowledge of experienced facilitators while planning the way they would like to re-apply their new skills, networks, and knowledge after they graduate from the program.

As the local researcher in Kenya, I led and executed the midterm evaluation for the "Increased Chances to Get Decent Work and Improved Living Standards for Marginalized Youths in Sub-Saharan Africa through Increased Quality and Relevance of TVET Offer and Services Project across Don Bosco TVET institutions in Kenya. I provided valuable input, lessons learned and recommendations based on the key findings of the project informing the next phase of this Euro 6.6 million BMZ project.

As part of the Evaluation Team (Consultancy) at Partnership for Economic Policy, I designed and implemented baseline and mid-term evaluations for the "Young Women Labor Market Participation and Labor Market Outcomes in TVET institutions in Kenya" in 2022 and 2023 respectively.

The Kenya Adolescent Health Survey 2019 was a comprehensive research initiative aimed at gaining insights into the health status, behaviours, and needs of adolescents in Kenya. The survey aimed to provide valuable data and evidence for policymakers, healthcare providers, and organizations working towards improving the health and well-being of adolescents.Key objectives of the survey included assessing the prevalence of health issues such as reproductive health, mental health, substance abuse, and nutrition among adolescents. It also sought to understand the knowledge, attitudes, and behaviours related to sexual and reproductive health, as well as the availability and accessibility of healthcare services for adolescents.As the field research coordinator, I led data collection across four counties, coordinated field operations, managed field activities budget and ensured quality and integrity in the data collection process. Most notably, I provided guidance, support and supervision to my research team to ensure project deadlines were met.

TechnoServe's Smart Duka Initiative in Kenya is a transformative program that empowers small-scale shop owners, known as dukas, to enhance their businesses and livelihoods. By providing business training, encouraging digital solutions adoption, and creating market linkages, the initiative equips duka owners with the tools and knowledge to optimize their operations, increase sales, and improve profitability. The program focuses on strengthening business skills, promoting the use of technology, and facilitating connections with suppliers and distributors. Through this comprehensive approach, the Smart Duka Initiative drives economic growth, increases incomes, and contributes to the development of a thriving small business sector in Kenya.As a project/business consultant, I successfully provided expert consultation, training, and guidance to retailers, conducting comprehensive business assessments and developing tailored strategies for improvement. Through interactive training programs, I equipped retailers with essential skills in inventory management, financial literacy, marketing, and customer service. I contributed to retailers' success by developing customized business plans, conducting market research, and monitoring progress. Facilitating knowledge sharing and establishing strategic alliances were key aspects of my role. I actively contributed to program development, advocate for the initiative, and stayed updated on industry trends. Dedicated to empowering retailers, I brought expertise in business development, training, and capacity building to drive growth and success.
