I am a creator/innovator who uses basketball and teaching to manifest my mission as a person. My mission is to create the best experience possible for the people who place their trust in me. My greatest accomplishments recently have been forming an affordable/exceptional travel basketball program for student athletes in Mid-Michigan to prepare them mentally and physically to excel in basketball. I have transformed the Lapeer Girls' Basketball program by creating new opportunities for students and families this past year. I am a student of success and am willing to change or adapt to become more successful in everything I do. I am an active participant in the BCAM and graduate of their aspiring coaches program. I have completed the MHSAA Coaches Advancement Program levels 1, 2, 3, and 4 to earn an Advanced Coach Certification. I will finish all eight of these classes in the upcoming year to earn a Master's ++ Elite Certification. The most recent books I have read are "Energy Bus" and "You Win in the Locker Room First" by Jon Gordon. "Toughness" by Jay Bilas, is a book I am going through as well and assigning in chunks to my AAU basketball team. As a teacher, I am continually conferring with colleagues to learn better strategies for classroom structure and behavior management, so I can become a more effective instructor. I use different scaffolding techniques, grouping, chunking, and technological mediums to engage students. I also write blogs for my varsity basketball team to promote female athletics and increase community following in our sport. This is a very limited scope of who I am, but should give you a snapshot into what my priorities are in my professional career.
