Current• Design, implement, and direct Knox County Government and Knox County Schools’ self-insured workers’ compensation program for the benefit of approximately 11,000 employees. • Coordinate the integration of claims software, pharmacy benefit manager, and medical bill review vendor services including the development of work flow for data bridges between the respective services and Knox County Finance Department. • Draft request for proposals and negotiate contracts for all required services. • Supervise Knox County claims staff on day-to-day handling of workers’ compensation claims. Engage injured workers in active return to work rehabilitation plans, treat all claimants in a caring, uniform manner, and reduce costs. • Achieve and maintain compliance with MMSEA 111 Reporting Requirements, state required workers compensation EDI filing, state self-insurance certification and self-administration requirements.• Develop effective and pro-active reserve strategy.• Counsel Knox County Risk Manager, Finance Director, and other department leaders on a variety of compliance, workers compensation, liability, and employment law related matters.• Defend and litigate workers compensation and other Law Department matters as needed.
