I grew up on a family farm raising a variety of livestock along with a experimental stage in crops. Beginning at age 10 with helping on the farm caring for the livestock and then taking part in the harvest as well, I have spent a large part of my life learning the relationship between life and work. After our family bought the processer we used, I began to learn the Butcher Trade and spent my summers, holidays, and free time to work the 2,000 hours required to master a skill. I am currently enrolled in the Master Meat Crafter program at the University of Wisconsin to have access to physical certificates showing my capabilities. I am sufficient in the harvest and processing sides of the meat industry and I am currently in the process of learning to manage larger teams. I have developed skills in conflict management, time management, and project management since starting this position and continue to grow the group of people working under me. As a team the group of managers here, including myself, will be undergoing a training program through Purdue University to help build the skill of project management in our facility. I am enjoying the opportunities for growth and hope to continue improving myself 1% better than the day before each day.
