Roles and Responsibilities.• Enhancing a fluid and insightful dialogue between the Analysis team and the Communications department to improve our analysis and better meet the needs of our users.• In close collaboration with the Communications Manager, ensuring the implementation of ACAPS communication strategy and the planning and dissemination of communication campaigns/projects.• Listening, monitoring, and analysing key performance indicators to ensure ACAPS performs according to the communication strategy goals (increase visibility, build trust and loyalty, and encourage participation) and help measure impact.• Managing ACAPS dissemination channels (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and MailChimp) by coordinating inputs across ACAPS work streams and key stakeholders to ensure we contribute towards more evidence-based informed decisions in the humanitarian response.• Analysing ACAPS KPIs and activity impact (management of Google Analytics and production of statistics).• Managing the Meltwater marketing platform for audience listening activities, monitoring conversations and trends, tracking mentions, and acting as the main focal point of the organisation.• Engaging on a regular basis with the primary target audience (humanitarian workers and organisations, donors, UN agencies, etc) and continuing building relationships with our secondary target audience (journalists, academia, private sector, etc).• Advocating for data-sharing while boosting collaboration with other platforms/organisations.• Coordinating and collaborating with the Analysis team regarding communication and dissemination of analysis work.• Producing the newsletter content for ACAPS global audience.

Key Tasks & Areas of ResponsibilitiesCo-ordination & Project Management• Take detailed notes and actions during all communications meetings, sharing them with the Communications Manager for approval, before sharing with all attendees• Proactively work with internal Shujaaz Inc team members to ensure they’re delivering against their actions on a day-to-day basis • Help to co-ordinate communications meetings with Shujaaz Inc Executive Assistant• Work with the Communications Manager to develop ways of reporting on communications activities and impacts to the Shujaaz Inc team and BoardStrategy & Research • Assist the Communications Manager in developing and implementing the organization’s communications strategy designed to further its objectives.• Stay up to date on industry trends and make recommendations for adjustments to communications strategies and practices.• Respond to media inquiries and build relationships with journalists and other members of the press.• Perform outreach to press outlets, magazines and influencers to grow the new brand.• Research and monitor Shujaaz Inc partner social media feeds and all local & international news and feeds, to find opportunities to share and engage with Shujaaz Inc’s audience and capitalize on unmet needs.Social Media Management• Responsible for the organization’s corporate social media presence.• Created a detailed annual calendar; using Hootsuite, scheduled social media posts for key events.• Managing posts and tracking digital/social media analytics to identify trending topics.• Managing email database including subscription, bounce backs, and unsubscribed recipients.• Writing email and website content to increase website traffic amongst target audience visitors.• Update and edit website content.

As an intern I gained skills in developing key story ideas, determining areas of emphasis, and writing stories according to prescribed editorial style and format standards. I also drafted and prepared background documents, reports, issue briefs, talking points, articles, and presentations.
