Designed engaging, useful and useable experiences for clients across a diverse range of complex domains – media sales, supply chain management, language learning, reservation parking, and telemedicine, among others. Designs and business strategies were consistently informed by user research, as well as competitive analyses and heuristic evaluation of existing solutions. Typical deliverables ranged from concept sketches and low-fidelity wireframes, to production-quality designs and vision books. Our team worked closely with clients to promote and foster a design culture amongst their teams as well – while not a tangible deliverable, the value cannot be overstated.

Game design, including rules, structures, systems, and user experiences for games on a variety of platforms (web, Facebook, mobile). Expertise in rapid-storyboarding, storytelling, one-page design, visual design, interface and UX design, balancing game systems, prototyping and playtesting.

Frequent interaction with reporters, science journalists, and editors in the media (print, radio, TV, and web) and news sections of selected professional journals. Developing and implementing new ways of reaching the public through online, social media.

Design and research for educational video games focused on teaching mathematics, science, history, civics and literacy. Expertise in: story, user interface, and gameplay design; concept art and layout; prototyping and playtesting; and preparing detailed design documents. Host of "A Distorted Reality," an MIT-based radio show of my own creation focusing exclusively on independently produced music; broadcast every Wednesday, 6 - 8am, Mar. 2007 – Feb. 2008. Later co-hosted the long-running, post-alternative program, "Breakfast of Champions." Expertise in audio mixing, editing, and production.

Involved in debugging developmental code for cutting-edge printer software in a Sun Systems/i86-PC Unix environment. Close, frequent team-based interaction with software and hardware engineers on developing solutions.

Exploration of current problems in quantum optics in collaboration with Assistant Professor of Physics John C. Howell. Research was focused on the theoretical development of a Wootters-Zurek quantum-copying machine (WZ-QCM), and inquiry into its possible applications, esp. quantum state discrimination.
