Land Director/Senior Planning Manager within the Land Department responsible for the identification and planning promotion of residential opportunities across the North East of Scotland. Specific areas of responsibility include:o Identifying, securing control and promoting development opportunities throughout the North East of Scotland.o Submission of Planning Applications and negotiating satisfactory planning permissions/planning agreements (Section 75 agreements) on land within the Company’s control. Submitting and progressing, where necessary, Planning Appeals.o Monitoring the progress of and making appropriate representations on emerging policy documents, i.e. Scottish Planning Policy, Planning Advice Notes, Structure Plans and Local Plans. Promoting these representations through all appropriate stages of policy formulation, i.e. Draft, Finalised, Inquiry, Modification and Adoption.o Appointing, instructing and co-ordinating independent consultants to promote the Company’s interests in the appropriate forums.o Providing advice to the Chairman, Managing Director, Regional Director and Departmental Directors on all issues pertaining to the Company’s land interests, i.e. Residential and Commercial.

Promoting these representations through all appropriate stages of policy formulation, i.e. Deposit, Inquiry, Modification and Adoption.o Identifying and promoting development opportunities through the review of Policy documents across the East and West Midlands.o Submission of Planning Applications and negotiating satisfactory planning permissions/S.106 Agreements on land within the Company’s control. Self-employed Planning Consultant working with local contacts on development appraisals, planning submissions and appeals. Latterly working on a project basis with Simon Pease & Associates/ANCER SPA on planning, economic development and urban regeneration projects. Examples of work involvement include:o Consultancy input to an Urban Regeneration Study leading to a 5-year strategy for English Partnerships investment in development sites in the North Nottinghamshire coalfields centred upon Mansfield. As a result of this work the consultancy was subsequently commissioned to extend the exercise into the North East Derbyshire area around Chesterfield.o Assistance with the preparation of an Area Regeneration Strategy for a major industrial area with Assisted Area and Objective 2 status in the London Borough of Enfield.o Development appraisals, planning applications and appeals.

One of two planners with responsibility for carrying out the strategic land function for the Midlands Regional Company with specific areas of work including:o The carrying out of detailed land studies over the East and West Midlands to identify both strategic and immediate land opportunities.o Liaising with landowners, agents, solicitors and local authority planning officers regarding potential acquisitions.

Responsible for the day-to-day running of the local planning and policy team with specific responsibility for the Tamworth Local Plan.

Specific responsibility for the preparation of the District Local Plan, residential site identification and appraisal, transportation policy formulation, area settlement statements and housing land availability.

Policy formulation and promotion of sites for residential development and environmental enhancement through the preparation of non-statutory development briefs.
