The World Health Organization estimates that globally nearly 1 billion individuals are living with vision impairment unnecessarily because they do not have access to eyeglasses. We founded EYElliance because we know this problem is solvable. We make the case for action and investment in this issue area, ultimately unlocking government funding and attracting development finance to solve the problem at scale. EYElliance is a multi-sector coalition that drives the global strategy to close the gap in access to eyeglasses. Informed by the collective experience of our membership, we have developed a road map for executing on this strategy. As a systems level change agent we: 1) source scalable solutions; 2) Demonstrate the viability of those solutions at the national & regional level; 3) De-risk adoption of proven scaling strategies by new actors.
