Agriculture and FFS specialist is responsible for overseeing the cocoa content of Sustainable Cocoa Production Program (SCPP) implementation. He/she will provide technical inputs on new approaches, research and agronomy-relevant activities, develop new learning materials and lessons learned, support ToTs in Good Agriculture Practices, ensuring the implementation of Farmer Field School, Coordinate relevant research and studies, and monitor the implementation of new training manuals. He/she will coordinate within R&D unit (social and gender, certification and environment), and program implementation unit to ensure the quality of trainings and technical • Providing trainings or capacity building activities in order to improve technical capacity of program implementation team in topics related to Good Agriculture Practice (GAP) • Ensure quality and consistency of the GAP trainings and teaching materials across all SCPP areas; and identification of knowledge gap of SCPP staff related to GAP • Develop proper SCPP’s GAP training modules and materials and implementation approaches (including FFS, demo-plots, nurseries, clonal gardens, technical assistance)• Responsible for monitoring the implementation of FFS (Farmer Field School) of various topics of trainings in particular GAP. • Responsible for documentation and dissemination of best practices, lessons learnt and innovative methodology for farmer trainings to improve the program implementation;• In coordination with PR develops content for communication materials related to GAP such as posters, flipcharts, brochures, flyers, etc.; • In coordination with the certification specialist ensures that the GAP training is aligned with the certification process• Under the supervision of Sr. Program Manager establishes and maintains effective coordination with Government of Indonesia (GoI), research institutions, universities, private sectors, and other stakeholders.

The “Sustainable Cocoa Production Program” (SCPP) is a large Public Private Partnership (PPP), formed as a direct follow up of the “Project for an Improved Cocoa Economy in Aceh” (PEKA). The pragmatic and market driven approach applied in Aceh has acted as a major incentive for the acquisition of Private Sector funds as well as Public Sector funds from the “Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs” (SECO) and the “Dutch Sustainable Trade Initiative” (IDH). The program started in January 2012 and includes, in its first phase, Six Provinces in Indonesia – Aceh, where the program continues the work with PEKA trained farmers, as well as with new farmers – two Provinces in Sumatra and four Provinces in Sulawesi, where the program works with and under the Cocoa Production and Quality Program (CPQP), funded by IDH and the Private Sector.SCPP has targeted 60,000 cocoa farmers (including the 12,500 previously trained PEKA farmers in Aceh) for capacity development to improve productivity and quality of cocoa production, around 800 formal farmer groups for strengthening through improved management, organizational capabilities and financial management skills, as well as the establishment and certification of at least 100 Smallholder Cocoa Enterprises (Farmer Organizations) with Rainforest Alliance and/or UTZ Certified to safeguard sustainability. Project Locations are in Aceh Province, West Sumatra Province, North Sumatra, West Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, South East Sulawesi, and Central Sulawesi.

The duties of the Technical Officer are on Program Planning and Development• Identify training need of communities; prepare and submit an annual work plan and plan training of trainers and field school activity with project partners• Develop training methods and methodologies for field activities.• In cooperation with working group coordinator help modify existing monitoring and evaluation to reflect the activities.• Develop Term of Reference (TOR) and budget for TOT and Farmer Field School (FFS) activities, review all document with local government and/or civil organization and facilitate signing of Recipient Agency Agreements• Identify training needs of communities and develop training materials.• Provide functional oversight of project operation.• To ensure the quality of agreement and field farmers school training activities on cocoa at field level.• Develop and control quality of technology adoption at field level.• Oversee activity, including supervision of staff, office operations, monitoring, regularly report to Team Leader and adhere to PEKA policies & procedure.

Banda Aceh

• To organize and lead community development program on livelihood• To manage training assessment and conducted capacity building training of livelihood.• Facilitated the formation of association and Government Working Group, also developed a code of conduct, performance monitoring tools and facilitated dissemination process of local government regulation.• Coordinating of Field Technicians to organize and monitor of field livelihood program implementation of social post tsunami recovery.• Provided Technical Assistance for the local NGOs to improve Forestry Concept and implementation for Sustainability.• Coordinate and Facilitate social forestry development at District Level.• Facilitated workshop and participatory training for implementing agencies at Provincial, District and Sub-District Level.
