🟢 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗜 𝗪𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗧𝗼 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗗𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗝𝗼𝗯4 years ago I arrived in Vancouver, Canada for the very first time. I knew no one, had no connections in the industry, no upper-year students or mentors to guide me, or friends & family that understood the intensity of finance recruitment. What I did have was a dream - to secure a US Investment Banking offer. And what I didn't have in knowledge I made up for in commitment. 1st-year: - applied & failed 300+ job applications from Sep - Dec No interviews.- Jan, Feb & March pass...Nada. - April goes by...*still doing my daily job applications.* I land my internship on April 30th. I was already making plans to work in construction or a call center. 2nd year (recruiting for 2nd-year summer): - I start in July, doing all the "right" things. - Aug, Sep, Oct, and Nov pass...Crickets.- That whole time...I get to school in the dark and leave in the dark- Dec arrives...and I land my offer 2 weeks later.Phew.2nd year (recruiting for 3rd-year summer): - In school from 5.30am – 10.30pm daily. - Jan, no interviews.- Feb, Point72 interview...it goes terribly. - Mar, Evercore interview...it also goes terribly. My focus shifts to Canada, thinking I've got no shot at the US. - 3rd week of Mar, Moelis 1st-round interview. I land my US Investment Banking offer a week later. Look, I was never supposed to land that offer. But through that suffering I became a different person. It gave me the self-confidence to become an entrepreneur - a lifelong dream of mine. And a deep desire to help other students do the same. I started FR Consulting because I know everyone of you can break in. You have the raw materials but not the right recipe. Over the past 12 months, I've helped 100+ students land the High Finance job of their dreams. Across roles like Investment Banking, Sales & Trading, Equity Research / Long-only Asset Management / Hedge Funds.And at firms like Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, UBS, RBC, Jefferies, BMO, CIBC, TD, Scotia, OTPP, CPP...I've had 1st-years land 4 investment banking internships before their 2nd-year.And 4th-year students with no prior experience land S&T or IB full-time.With or without me the journey won't be "easy".
