Hello! I'm Francisco—a three-time Emmy-winning journalist, television producer, and impact-driven filmmaker working closely with the nation’s top depolarizing experts to create scalable media projects that bridge political divides. After a 17-year career in front and behind the camera at Telemundo, NBC, CBS, and DirecTV, I founded Country Roads Studios, a media start-up in partnership with Harvard University scholars. The independent studio develops disruptive films, TV shows, and online games that combine scientific research with high-quality, non-partisan entertainment, translating groundbreaking studies from Harvard and Stanford into innovative content that reaches mass audiences. Before that, I was an anchor/correspondent of Telemundo’s national morning show Un Nuevo Día, a special correspondent for The Today Show and Access Hollywood on NBC, and a contributor for The Talk and Entertainment Tonight on CBS. During that time, I interviewed high-profile politicians, newsmakers, and artists, from Vice President Kamala Harris and Dr. Anthony Fauci to Angelina Jolie and George Clooney. I also created and produced six shows airing in 15 countries, including more than 200 weekly episodes of my own show for DirecTV Latin America.Born in the middle of the Salvadoran Civil War, I grew up experiencing the devastating effects of a ruptured democracy. After immigrating to the US and becoming an American citizen, I left network television to earn a Master in Public Administration at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and explore how to leverage my career for the public good —primarily to prevent democratic failures in his adopted country. My work integrates my perspectives as an immigrant, Latino, and LGBTQ+ creator.Previously, I earned a Master’s in Filmmaking from the Madrid Film School (ECAM) and a Bachelor’s in Journalism from Central American University (UCA) in El Salvador.
