Joined W.R. Berkley Group during the start-up period of Great River Insurance, which was later rolled into Union Standard Insurance Group. Held senior commercial underwriting duties, but later became lead Product Development Manager. Job duties related to R&D, drafting of company-specific forms, branch audits, state insurance filings, involvement with bureaus such as AAIS, ISO and NCCI. Key role in Berkley implementation program for the consolidation of insurance products and rating system platform between regional operating units. Interacted with team members in Actuarial, Underwriting, Marketing and IT during this assignment.

Tampa/St. Petersburg, Florida Area

Large account underwriter, responsible for marketing, account development strategies, profitability and production. Focused upon transportation/logistics, electronics manufacturing, food products manufacturing.

Began career as a Casualty underwriting trainee and later cross trained to multi-line underwriter. Key duties included agency marketing and development; client presentations and coordination of risk management, loss control and claims services to key customers.
