I have practiced law for more than 30 years and enjoyed every minute of it. The Law has proven to be an ideal intersection for my professional, civic, social and economic interests. For some time, one of my primary interest has been to promote diversity in the profession. This begins with my service on the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law Alumni Association Board of Directors. There, my focus has been to increase the number of minorities entering law school. My activities in local and national bar bar associations have been focused on encouraging the hiring of minority and women owned law firms by Fortune 1000 companies and governmental agencies. I encourage our firm to attend conferences, expos and conventions that promote increased relationships among minority and women owned law firms and the corporate community. Fields & Brown is an active member of the National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms (NAMWOLF), as well as the Commercial law Section of the National Bar Association (NBA) and the Defense Research Institute (DRI).

  Taylor Fields is the founding member and the managing partner of Fields & Brown. Mr. Fields’ practice has been primarily in the areas of employment defense and labor relations. Mr. Fields currently represents a number of Fortune 100 corporations and government agencies in the defense of Title VII claims, as well as grievances and labor arbitrations. He has served as employment and labor counsel to the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority for more than 28 years. He also served in the same capacity for the Kansas City Missouri School District for more than 13 years. Mr. Fields has litigated numerous cases involving Title VII, Title IX, and Americans with Disabilities Act as well as under state employment discrimination laws. He also has extensive experience in commercial litigation. He has represented major governmental agencies and Fortune 100 companies in the defense of multi-million dollar class actions and complex multi-district litigation matters.Taylor Fields is a member of the Missouri Bar and the State Bar of Michigan and is admitted to practice before federal district courts and courts of appeals, including the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the Missouri Council of School Attorneys and the Employment Law Section of the American Bar Association. He was President of the Jackson County Bar Association and held offices in the National Bar Association and Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association.
