As a high school English teacher, I teach ninth grade, Honors 10th grade, and a film elective. I work with many different students each day, focusing on improving their literacy, vocabulary, writing skills, and more. There is a focus on social-emotional learning (SEL) in my classroom. Students and I have created a supportive, encouraging, and rigorous classroom environment.

In addition to the duties I completed as a resident assistant, as a Senior Resident Assistant I also assisted in training and management of other staff members. I met with the co-director of Residential Life and Housing bi-weekly to improve residential life on campus. In 2024, I received the "RA of the Year Award."

I completed 558 hours student teaching at Classical High School. My role included teaching two sections of English 12/4 and one section of AP Literature full-time. I was responsible for all lesson planning for my classes, teaching every day, and working with my cooperating teacher as well as other English teachers/departments. I worked with students across various levels, including those with IEPs and English Language Learners.

As a resident assistant, I ensured the safety, well-being, and community-building of the residence halls at Rhode Island College through nightly rounds, connecting students with resources, and events. I met with and voiced resident concerns to other resident assistants, the hall director, and the co-director of Residential Life and Housing.
