Ben Fitzpatrick is a community director and environmental, natural resource, land and emergency management practitioner.He has experience across business, government and not-for-profit organisations. Ben's career and expertise are largely focused on the intersection of environmental issues with Australian communities and industries including:- Agriculture, forestry and fishing- Construction- Education and training- Electricity, gas, water and waste services - Manufacturing - Mining- Professional, scientific and technical services, and- Public administration and safety.As the Sydney-Hunter Regional Manager for the Biodiversity Conservation Trust (BCT), Ben is increasing private land conservation in areas of high biodiversity value, delivering efficient, effective and strategic biodiversity offset outcomes, supporting landholders to conserve biodiversity, and promoting public knowledge, appreciation and understanding of biodiversity and the importance of conservation.He is a Certified Environmental Practitioner (CEnvP), Lead Auditor and Lead Investigator.Ben has tertiary qualifications in science, business and public administration. His postgraduate research contributed to the development of the Full Carbon Accounting Model (FullCAM); the calculation tool for modelling Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions, estimating the carbon stock change in ecosystems and generating abatement estimates for methods (rules) under the Emissions Reduction Fund.Ben is passionate about community governance, environment protection, ecological restoration, forest management, regional development and Australian football.
