Working as LWF’s representative of the Area Program and effectively lead and manage the LWF exit process with staff, national and international stakeholders, government authorities, etc. and providing leadership and management of the Area Program to ensure that expected results are achieved.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Program exiting• Provide strategic direction, leadership and overall technical and management support to the program during the exit phase• Closely monitor the implementation of LWF exit plan ensuring that the plan is on track• Contribute to the documentation of learnings from LWF’s work in Djibouti• Proactively engage with key stakeholders from the Government in national and local levels, international community, donors and other partners in ensuring that program commitments are fully delivered LWF exit process duly communicated.Program Management, Quality and Control• Identify, assess, monitor and implement measures to reduce or control risks that may impact program delivery, quality or compliance.• Facilitate prompt, clear, timely and accurate communication on implementation of the exit plan to the community, LWF Nairobi and Donor.Staff Management, Development and Care• Provide relevant information to the staff on the steps towards closure.• Promote and monitor staff care and well-being; approve and manage all leave requests to ensure adequate staff coverage and all staff take requisite leave as provided for before closure.Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning• Undertake regular field monitoring visits to assess progress and identify technical quality issues and/or other implementation issues, provide solutions and implement modifications as required to ensure all implementation is completed as per the exit plan.Coordination• Engage and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders including Government of Djibouti, INGOs/NGOs, UNHCR, and UNICEF, technical and relevant Government of Djibouti actors.

Reporting to the Project CoordinatorProviding day-to-day management of M&E and Accountability responsibilities related to LWF programs in Turkana West Sub County, Kenya, including working with program staff and other stakeholders (beneficiaries, donors, government etc.)JOB RESPONSIBILITIES• Provide overall management for the design and implementation of the LWF’s M&E system, working closely with other staff and other stakeholders to provide progress updates to the Project Coordinator, donors and other key stakeholders.• Primary point person for all monitoring and evaluation related work.• Develop and refine various LWF’s data collection instruments (both quantitative and qualitative), and maintain a results database to aggregate data. • Identify and design performance questions, key indicators and targets for each project component• Enhance community M&E mechanisms/structures through participatory processes • Follow up on project quality implementation through regular project field visits • Manage the information-gathering process for results and performance reports, in addition to other briefings, summaries, papers, presentations, etc. for various audiences as needed.• Train LWF staff in the use of the monitoring systems, providing ongoing coaching/support through regular site monitoring visits, and ensure quality control and problem solving as needed. • Document good practices, lessons learned trends, cross-cutting policy and implementation issues, etc. • Collect, compile and analyze data and reports and create consolidated progress reports.• Research and collect content and stories about the project's achievements.• Enhance and mainstream Accountability and CRM in LWF programs

All round Capacity Development - People, Organization and CommunityWorking hand-in-hand with Human Resource Officer to identify staff capacity development needs, drafting of training programs, consultants' ToRs, reviewing of material and quality control of training programs offered both internally and by external facilitators.Promotion of HAP Benchmark No. 6 - Learning and Continual Improvement, so that the organization learns and documents important lessons that can either be replicated elsewhere or avoided as the case might be. This also has to do with studying what published reports on what other organizations elsewhere have gone through and applying their lessons for the improvement of community projects.Preparation of uprooted populations (Refugees, IDPs and stateless persons) for return to their original homes, resettlement or integration into local communities. This typically involves taking cognizance of the fact that even among the uprooted population there are people with skills and knowledge, others have deep interest in studying and acquiring qualifications that would make them more employable or empower them to create wealth and jobs.As part of the Project Management Team, I enjoy proposal development and report-writing, perhaps because I enjoy expressing my thoughts in writing.
