I worked with two supervisors, Cindy Connelly Ryan and Andrew Davis, on linked-data visualization for fading (specifically MFT) test data. This project involved a significant amount of literature research into current visualization models and using these applications to depict pre-existing data in novel and more tangible ways, revealing conclusions not previously reached in the current literature.

My work primarily focuses on trouble-shooting and testing different methods for pH measurement as well as improving upon a brand-new method for pH: agarose plugs. These measurements are incredibly important in determining the state of a paper's degradation, and an inaccurate reading could prove fatal to the long-term health of the cultural artifact. My goal is to succinctly test and improve upon previous methods in order to provide better non-invasive testing methods for samples that cannot be destroyed.This project ended with a presentation to the PRTD division, and a final report listing recommendations.
