Research interests are centered in the field of automatic analysis of audiovisual contents and it is based on applying machine learning methods to low-level audio and video descriptors. We pretend to develop systems for defining the time-line mood of a video taking into account low level descriptors such as speech-music, type of colors, motion, faces, etc. The idea is to use this time-line video mood to improve user profiling, improve selection of advertisements, increas ad completion rates, etc.I'm also currently involved in a national research project GenCom that is working on the analysis of audio and video compression technologies to be applied to efficient coding of the genome.In the past I have been involved in different European and National Research projects such as Buscamedia (CENIT), Vision (CENIT), VISNET II, VISNET (NOE). where I have participated as a coordinator of the GTAV Group (https://gtav.upc.edu) Show less
