Pioneering Social Entrepreneurship (SE) Training and Research Center. Launched 39 accredited Social Entrepreneurship (ES+) projects nationwide, including the first Portuguese ASHOKA Fellow’s (ColorADD); created 7 training projects aimed at social entrepreneurs (IES Bootmcamps – powered by INSEAD); oversees 119 projects in the field.http://ies-sbs.org/MIES Project: Mapping Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship in PortugalDirect Report to the Founder and President of IES. Member of a team of 4 researchers.• Identified, analyzed and mapped High Potential Initiatives in innovation and Social Entrepreneurship throughout the Portuguese territory in order to optimize local development strategies (health, education, arts, culture, sports, etc.).• Conducted 260 interviews with privileged observers of the third sector in Portugal, and 500+ screening telephone interviews.• Formulated, performed and evaluated 130 questionnaires aimed at participants in ES+ initiatives.• Liaised with ES+ institutional partners: EDP Foundation and Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation; Euclid Network; and INSEAD Social Innovation Exchange.• Was recognized as “Call Backs & Participants’ Feedback Gatherer” Office Champion by IES’s colleagues, who identified sense of humor and sensitivity as my strongest tools when interacting with social entrepreneurs and community members.

Prepared and conducted 3 workshops on Social Entrepreneurship in 3 Portuguese regions (West, Tagus Valley and Coimbra) attended by 30 to 60 professionals operating in the public and 3rd sectors.

Sao Tome And Principe

Founded almost 30 years ago and with a strong presence in the Portuguese-speaking world (Angola, Mozambique, Sao Tomé and Príncipe and East Timor), LDP is a Catholic NGOD that depends on volunteers and works mainly in education, community development, entrepreneurship promotion, and professional training.Member of a team of 3 volunteers (and roommates) integrated in a community of over 20 volunteers. Devised a funding-application project aimed at developing writing activities and overall qualification of an elementary school. Trained and accompanied school workers (Direction Members, teachers and auxiliary personnel). Coordinated and oversaw community activities. Established contacts, protocols and partnerships with the local Ministry of Education. Developed pioneering programs involving 350 children, 16 teachers and 20 young community members , including: curricular enrichment activities; study support practices; and leisure activities. Rehabilitated the Parents & Guardians Association. Supervised quarterly meetings with ca.150 guardians. Established an Educational Resource Center.
