I have worked in higher education since 1994. The theme throughout my work is to support the growing inclusion and success of traditionally under-represented students. I have had the good fortune to work with among the most talented and dedicated colleagues and students through positions with Boise State University, Washington State University, the University of Idaho, Skagit Valley College, Spokane Community College and Yakima Valley Community College. I currently serve as an administrator working with several departments and have also served as a departmental director, a recruiter, an advisor and a faculty member teaching classes in subjects such as Ethnic Studies, Chicano Studies and Career Development. My Master's work within Political Science at the University of Washington focused on African-American and Chicano political identity. I have belonged to several community organizations with an emphasis on diversity and human rights in each of the cities and towns I have lived in. I have presented on a wide variety of topics from leadership development to strategies to create a more inclusive environment with specific populations in mind. I am a lifelong rock and roll fan and love spending time with the ones I love singing along to the ipod on long trips or even short ones.
