Director Buildings & Grounds Houston Livestock Show & RodeoResponsible for the overall management of the Buildings and Grounds department which includes the day to day operations of the Rodeo Event, All Grounds and Facilities as well as the annual set-up and tear-down of the Show.Supervise and oversee warehouse management staff, support staff and skilled labor of 21 plus full-time employees and approximately 100 – 200 temporary seasonal employees prior to and during the Show. Negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, and temporary labor companies as well as order and schedule delivery of all products needed for show and grounds operations.Oversee the planning, direction, development, and coordination of all phases of the show move-in, set-up, daily operations, teardown and move-out. Oversee the planning and execution of the shows operations to include staffing requirements, CAD drawings, grounds layouts and general safety protocols for show daily operations. Work closely with the department’s management in developing new and innovative programs for the Buildings and Grounds department for a safe work environment, work efficiencies, staff development, retention, training programs for the warehouse operations.Direct warehouse management, supervisory staff and contractors on special projects, work schedules and timelines. • Fiduciary Responsibilities o Develop and manage department budgets to include forecasting and analytics o Oversee procurement of goods and serviceso Develop RFQs and RFPs for related goods and serviceso Validate the purchasing and expenses to approved budgets o Construction and capital projects perform cost estimates, scope of service, source contractors; manage projects and control expenses and budgets.o Project Management, scheduling, timelines

Former Director of the Somervell County Expo Center and Texas Amphitheater, Managed a $1.3 million dollar budget, revitalized and realigned an aging Equine Center in North Central Texas, Somervell County Expo Center. Managing an office staff 10 -20 FT/PT employee’s successfully increased usage to 52 consistent weekends with added weekly series to close a budget deficit of $900K from fruition of my tenure. With skilled attention to arena/dirt management and oversight of all setup, I successfully increased Barrel Racing and Team/Calf Roping events to ultimately be invited to host The American and Junior American Qualifiers. Host to PRCA events VIP Team Roping’s, Ultimate Calf Roping’s Joe Beaver Labor Day Calf Roping, BBR sanctioned Barrel events. ..Manage and execute budget, plan budgetary forecasts and revenue requirements; work with local city government on Hotel Motel Tax utilization for funding events. Successfully obtained over $100,000 annually in Texas State Economic impact grants (reoccurring).Implemented a contestant/spectator friendly environment by adding retail space, expanding on food and beverage concessions, and requiring an overall focus on cleanliness and professionalism by all employees and vendors.
