Worked with Dr. T. William Lester on new research to understand how changes in neighborhood racial composition affect mortgage lending patterns. Used Stata and GIS to merge historical mortgage and census data. Conducted literature review to contextualize research finding.Assist Dr. Lester in creating Carolina Inequality Lab, a think tank to house interdisciplinary research around metropolitan inequality at UNC. In the fall of 2011, I created an online encyclopedia (now terminated) that brings up-to-date, unbiased information to the Fairfax community in Northern Virginia. Fairfaxpedia was essentially an answer to some of the challenges that arise whenever someone is trying to find out specific information about their community. As a wiki, anyone can edit, correct, or improve the information found on Fairfaxpedia. It's a way of crowdsourcing the massive amount of local information in a way that can be easily accessed by everyone.
