Manage the Cell Profiling Group within Assay Development/High Throughput Screening (5 FTE’s). Responsibilities: Perform 3M+ compound HTS - Develop, optimize, and execute an average of 4-8 full deck screens per year. Lead compounds identified provide starting points for GNF drug discovery efforts. Specialize in cell-based, phenotypic screens. Oversee the medicinal chemistry screening platform- 2.5 FTE’s + an automated screening system provide weekly screening results in support of 4-6 medicinal chemistry projects. >10 advanced preclinical candidates have been identified in the last 3 years that have moved on to the Novartis drug development pipeline Design and utilize screening platforms in support of LMW mechanism of action determination - Efficient and highly automated approach has been a cornerstone of the MoA deconvolution efforts for the past 10 years (JALA (2009) 14, p. 374) Internal expert on combination screening- Strategies involving up to four compounds per well have been performed.
