My passion for computer systems started when my father helped me build my first computer in the early 2000s. At first it was just a fascination with video games that evolved into an eagerness to solve problems and create solutions through applications.I remember writing code as early as 2005. I was a young jr high kid with an interest in customizing AOL instant messenger profiles and modifying MySpace layouts. I leveraged HTML and CSS without even realizing it to embed media, customize layouts and configure content.I committed myself to an education in computer engineering and took formal classes to learn the fundamentals of programming. Every class introduced a new software language and created a deeper passion for what I was doing. From low level assembly language, to high level UI frameworks, I had a large amount of respect for the technology I was learning.My skills learned at the university transitioned directly to my professional career. I operate primarily as a full stack engineer. I’m comfortable working from the front end UI down to the backend server and underlying database. Where I may lack direct experience with certain technologies I make up with my willingness to learn, determination to finish tasks, and grit to complete complex problems.Outside of software, I am a former athlete. I enjoy football, basketball, golf, and baseball as well as the training that comes with it. Although I no longer participate in organized sports, I still train to this day as a primary stress relief. From resistance training to yoga meditation, I continue to exercise and commit myself to the former competitive athlete that exists within. I also have a special interest in music. I curate playlists in my free time that I share with friends to enjoy. I attend concerts for new up and coming artists as I prefer a smaller intimate listening experience. In January 2023 I started my own consulting business, GPB Consulting LLC. I assist friends in my free time with configuring shopify storefronts, developing custom components for websites, building gaming desktops, and troubleshooting system problems. As a result, I created an official business that I can operate under.
