I organize club meetings, tabling events, and outside events with university faculty and staff. I lead group discussions about various philosophical topics. In addition, I manage other club officers’ projects to ensure efficient functioning of the club.

In this role, I facilitated group discussions about various philosophical topics and controversial issues. I oversaw fundraising, recruitment, and on-campus outreach programs. I also helped organize club involvement in on-campus Philosophy Department events.

I attended the University of South Carolina’s Carolina Philosophy Club meetings. Discussions were about different philosophical topics, with a large emphasis on ethics and ethical practices in different industries. I later increased my involvement in the club by becoming elected to an officer position.

I provided programmatic support for the DDSN & Youth Waiver Services Section under Healthy Connections Medicaid’s Bureau of Policy. This section serves the medically complex children (MCC) and individuals with intellectual and related disabilities (IDRD) populations.Primarily, I researched other state programs and contracts to recommend changes to SC Medicaid policies for fee-for-service and managed care services. I used this information, combined with existing state policies and procedures, to draft the MCC Provider Manual, responses to public comments, and related public notice. In addition, I assisted in reviewing interagency oversight contracts and directives to address action requirements for quality assurance. Lastly, I attended weekly meetings for a variety of projects across different sections within the Bureau.

These are volunteer roles through the University of South Carolina’s Office of Sustainability, requiring a commitment of at least 50 hours per semester:As a Peer Leader for the K-12 Team, I created sustainable lesson plans for South Carolina public school systems grades K-12. I tied these lesson plans to sustainable-based art projects and group activities. I also attended weekly meetings and professional development workshops.As a Peer Leader for the Garden Team, I maintain the University of South Carolina Green Quad Garden, lead tours through the garden for other university students and outside parties, and assist in selling produce at local farmer’s markets.

I shadowed investigations into allegations of abuse, neglect, and exploitation at SC DDSN Regional Care Facilities for individuals with cognitive disabilities and mental illnesses. A large task I was assigned to was creating a department wide database for tracking all incident reports and relevant data for the 2022 and 2023 years. I also attended trainings, reviewed camera footage, traveled to regional centers, joined in conducting interviews, assisted in writing reports, edited reports, and performed various other housekeeping tasks.

Assembled and moved furniture into the newly constructed dormitories at the University of South Carolina campus. Assembled apartment furniture by hand and with power tools. Unloaded trucks and moved furniture weighing up to 300 lbs. for 8-hour workdays.

I was part of a small manufacturing team that received, prepared, packaged, and shipped biological testing/sampling kits for large companies/organizations. These orders often contained hazardous chemicals/materials and required strict gowning and procedural protocols, as well as extreme attention to detail and accuracy.

I was trained to operate in most areas of a large scale warehouse, including receiving, sorting, picking/packing, loading, and shipping. It was very physically demanding and required standing and lifting/moving large car parts for 12+ hour shifts.

I was responsible for unloading truck orders/stocking, maintaining a clean and organized store, providing customer service, acting as a cashier, and providing any other miscellaneous help required.
