IBC provides a number of services for their clients, including hosting highly confidential meetings with high ranking executive agency officials, foreign diplomats and members of Congress; monitoring public policy in Congress, the Executive and the countless international trade organizations in D.C; and conducting research and preparing briefings on everything from offsets and counter trade to tariffs and impending trade deals, non-tariff trade barriers, elections monitoring, and domestic economic policies in other countries. In my capacity as an intern for IBC, I: -Attended briefings and hearings in Congress, including Senate Finance; Judiciary; Foreign Relations and Appropriations committees, House Ways and Means; Small Business; Appropriations; Energy and Commerce and Foreign Affairs. -Wrote research papers and memos for clients on a wide array of issues, including NAFTA re-negotiations, elections in Argentina and the changing business climate there, economic stability in Brazil, maritime laws in the United States, future developments in ASEAN, the effect of additive manufacturing on international trade, international public policy on soda and other high sugar and fat products and changes in the Foreign Agent Registration Act (FARA).-Attended and monitored NAFTA re-negotiation hearings and briefings at the International Trade Commission, the Hill and multiple other trade organizations and associations.
