As a Fire Support Specialist I was in charge of operating radio wire communications and speech security equipment. This might include encoding and decoding messages, as well as establishing and maintaining equipment. I helped train subordinates in support procedures and tactics, and lead and train the forward observer team in combat operations. I was also a Joint Fires Observer working in conjunction with the United States Air Force Traffic Air Controllers and Joint Terminal Attack Controllers to provide accurate and critical data of enemy locations to continue the mission of the United States Military. As a JFO I was a critical link to the joint war fighting with the U.S. Air Force for my company and the subject matter in the field.
