Profile bio

About Guilherme Aramizo Ribeiro

I have over 8 years of experience in research and product design as a Mechatronics Engineer. My main areas of interest are in Controls, Computer Vision, and Hardware-Software Integration, have implemented vision and control systems for robots and Electric Vehicles. What drove me to this field of work was the opportunity to use engineering to transform human life experiences, and with the recent advancement in sensors, actuators, and computing power, these opportunities are within our reach! During my years as a researcher, I developed technologies to make a robotic prosthesis to mimic a biological foot and see the environment. This required applying novel system identification and image processing methods to tests with 50+ human subjects. In other research, I developed image tracking and path planning solutions for aerial drone combat, trained AI models for medical devices, and more.Moving to California, I broadened my expertise at a consulting and prototyping company called Motivo Engineering, where I designed and built products in the fields of autonomous vehicles and industrial robots at varied developmental stages. To keep exploring new technologies, I build personal projects that balance Mechanical, Electrical, and Software skills. In one notable project, built and 3D-printed module to operate window blinds via Alexa voice commands. If you want to collaborate on one of these projects, please reach out to me at garamizo91@gmail.com or github.com/garamizo.Outside of engineering, I like to play sports such as volleyball, racquetball, tennis, table tennis, and pickleball. Other hobbies include board games, drawing, strength training, stoicism studies, and meditation in nature.Skills: Python, C, C++, C#, MATLAB, Simulink, LabVIEW, Arduino, ROS, OpenCV, PCL, shell, PyTorch, SolidWorks, Onshape, Altair Inspire, Git, Docker, Photoshop, Gimp, Blender, Teaching, Research, Leadership, Optimization

Listed skills include Leadership, Proteus, Robot Operating System, Git, and 37 others.
