I am currently the Field Service/Support Engineer at Curbell Medical in Orchard Park, NY and began this position in July 2022. I am a member of the Design Engineering team and work closely with our National Accounts and Marketing teams, as well as our customers directly. I am primarily responsible for the customization, installation, support, and a technical resource for Curbell's Rego product line (Android tablet based nurse call device). I graduated from the University at Buffalo with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering in May 2022. Throughout my undergraduate career, I successfully completed a number of projects in the field of biomedical engineering. My senior design project involved the creation of a smartphone camera based software to allow the user to monitor their heart rate and blood oxygen level, and to create a vascular map using only the phone’s camera. We utilized photoplethysmography (PPG) technology in order to accomplish this, and I am responsible for the MATLAB code to translate raw PPG data into the heart rate and blood oxygen data. I worked in a team with 3 other biomedical engineering undergraduates to create this program, which was completed in May 2022.Another project I have completed is using Motion Capture Technology to Analyze Basketball shots. My team and I utilized a motion capture laboratory to gather position data while performing three different modalities of basketball shots. We processed the thousands of data points using Microsoft Excel to get linear and angular velocities and accelerations, forces and torques experienced by the joints, etc. and presented our results in IEEE format. One final project I have completed is the Mathematical Modeling of E. Coli Bacterial Cell Movement. I created a mathematical model, using MATLAB, of an E. Coli cell's movement through biological pathways and how the cell responds to different stimuli. I researched various differential equations and wrote the code in order to create this mathematical model.I worked in two different engineering jobs throughout my college career as well. From September 2021 to June 2022, I worked as a Lab Test Technician at Bureau Veritas. Before this job, I worked during the summers (2019, 2020) as a Transportation Construction Inspector for the New York State Dept. of Transportation.
