Mr. Gary Hunt is a Vice President and Principal Scientist within TRC in their Lowell, MA office. He works principally in the environmental sector and, in particular, the characterization, quantification and control of toxic pollutant emissions from a variety of industrial sources, as well as their transport, fate and measurement in the environment. Areas of particular interest and professional activity include the following:• The distribution, occurrences, transport and fate of PCDDs/PCDFs and other Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) in the environment.• Environmental monitoring for PCDDs/PCDFs, PAHs, PCBs and other pollutants.• Monitoring at former Manufactured Gas Plant (MGP) sites (20 sites).• World Trade Center (WTC) - 9/11 and Post 9/11 air quality impacts-Lower Manhattan New York building deconstruction projects.• Fugitive dust emissions (MSW landfills, quarries, coal piles, construction sites etc.).• Chemical forensics as a tool in identifying sources of environmental pollutants.• PCDDs/PCDFs emissions from industrial sources – characterization, diagnostics and abatement.• Litigation Support/Expert Testimony (depositions and witness at trial).• Preparation of affidavits and expert reports.Mr. Hunt, who holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Villanova University (1974) and an M.S. in Environmental Sciences from Rutgers University (1977), has 37 years of experience in environmental consulting. He is an internationally recognized expert in the field of toxic pollutants.
