I’ve worked with tube lasers for over 15 years now, over 10 of which I’ve been in a supervisory / cell leader position. I have worked on various different BLM lasers ranging from a 712, 722, LT8 and fiber lasers. I am able to train others. Even people with no experience, which I’ve done on many occasions. I also created the current training matrix that my current and previous employer use when training operators. Due to my years of experience I am also able to carry out a lot of basic maintenance procedures and fix a lot of smaller things myself, rather than having to call out engineers. Over the years I’ve also seen thousands of different drawings which we produce parts in accordance with. I’m very competent at reading and understanding drawings. As I’ve been a supervisor for such a long time I’d like to think I have good communication skills and I’m able to make decisions of my own accord. I also have a FLT and overhead pendant crane license. I’ve seen pretty much every scenario on the laser machines over the years so nothing really phases me with regards to operating or setting them. I would like to learn the programming side of the operation. So moving forward I would love the chance to learn this, as I’m sure an experienced operator that could program lasers would be a huge asset to any company.
