Review requisitions from all 14 Franciscan hospitals and place purchase orders with vendors. Place capital orders. Review orders placed by procurement technicians. Work with Procurement Techs to identify and resolve vendor back-orders, incorrect shipments, incorrect pricing, open orders and product returns. Research and resolve price discrepancies identified on orders and invoices. Negotiate pricing when needed. Research products and vendors to meet needs of facilities. Work closely with the hospital Materials Management staff and requisitioners. Seek opportunities for further improvement in efficiency and operational cost reductions. Cover other Buyers’ and Procurement Techs’ purchasing responsibilities as necessary. Manage the Purchasing Department while the Purchasing Director is absent. Maintain and update the Central Purchasing Intranet website using CMS by Microsoft. Great interpersonal phone skills; good analytical and problem solving abilities; good judgment with high business ethical standards in carrying out responsibilities. Train new employees. Request quotes from vendors for custom orders. Update the Purchasing system to reflect up to date information on Vendors addresses, phone numbers, fax numbers, contacts, etc. Work daily with Microsoft Office programs such as Excel and Word.
