Construction Manager
CurrentAt our 6,700 acre campus, I act as the Construction Manager and provide facilities oversight for the Applied Physics and Superconducting Technology Directorate's 40 buildings and properties. I independently coordinate, inspect, and oversee all aspects of complex construction projects including the installed systems, safety management systems, quality assurance and controls systems, project schedules and costs. I Inspect construction work in progress to ensure that materials and work standards conform to specifications, quality requirements of the contract and applicable construction codes. On a daily basis I oversee subcontractors' activities to ensure compliance of their Environmental, Safety, & Health (ES&H) plans, applicable Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) Standards, equipment manufacturers’ specifications, and applicable hazard analysis. Daily responsibilities include: In the field project management, safety inspections, preparing cost estimates, plan and specifications reviews, quality control, preparing and issue reports, monitoring project schedule and coordinating construction activities with on going laboratory functions. Determine areas in need of improvement and coordinate project execution based on priority and cost. Monitor the operation, ongoing maintenance and sustainability of architectural/utility components. I lead a team that oversees the day to day building management services throughout designated multi-use facilities.
