My 32 year career in mining has been very rewarding over the years starting back in the early 1980's as an internal sales representative for Warman Pumps. Over the years I have been given growth opportunities gaining more responsibilities due to producing good results and meeting/exceeding sales targets. After achieving all local South African targets in early 2000, I was promoted to a global role looking after South Africa, Australia, India, as well as Asia Pacific. I was expected to put together teams to grow our business in these regions which I successfully completed. During this time we won the largest ever contract awarded to Metso in India. Australian business started gaining momentum as well as Asia Pacific. In 2007 I was promoted to Vice President, Pumps and relocated to the USA. I held this position until 2012 and have subsequently taken on alternative roles as Metso continued to develop it's operating model.
